April 18, 2009
This weekend capped the second of two great rugby weekends for NOVA. After coming off a huge 61-3 victory over Philly a few weeks ago (the other games were canceled due to weather), NOVA suffered two very close defeats this past Saturday. A closely contested battle against Keystone, in which NOVA held their opponents scoreless for the second half, resulted in a 12-10 loss.
Player of the Game: Amber "Shady" Benlian
Defensive Hammer of the Game: Megan "5-0" Hanson
Rookie of the Game: Alexsis Mansisidor
NOVA 2 also came back in the second half to close within a try to MARFU matrix opponent Chesapeake. The final score was 17-11.

Chicken of Power (biggest hit of the day): Stacy "Lucky" Bowe
Rookie of the Game: Megan
NOVA 3 was fortunate to get in some extra minutes against a tough Keystone "B" side (featuring several US Eagles) and Chesapeake B. Although they fell to Keystone, NOVA emerged from the Chesapeake game victorious, with a try by fullback and player of the game Natalie Poisel.
